About Us
Phoebe and Pete have been in Paihia since 2001. Lured by numerous outdoor activities in the Bay of Islands they have spent the last seven years enjoying the 'sun and beach' lifestyle Paihia has to offer. They purchased the motel in late 2007 and have worked together to renovate and refurbish the interior, exterior and landscape.
Pete, representing the Kiwi component in their relationship, is from Lower Hutt, Wellington and returned to New Zealand after a 10 year stint in the U.K. He spent five years in the British Royal Navy serving as a dentist both at sea and with a Commando unit.
Phoebe is from Chicago, Illinois and ventured to New Zealand after completing a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She's lived in Europe, has travelled extensively and continues to search for new adventures to share with Pete. She has worked in the tourism industry in Paihia over the last five years.
